Welcome to the 2010 Florida Communities
of Excellence Awards!
Overview
The Florida Communities of Excellence Awards is the only statewide, independently judged program recognizing community associations for best practices and accomplishments in several key categories. Founded by the Florida Community Association Journal and the law firm of Becker & Poliakoff, the Awards spotlight the positive and productive initiatives taking place in condominiums, homeowners associations and cooperatives commonly referred to as Community Associations throughout Florida.
In 2009, more than 130 submissions were evaluated in five categories with separate judging for communities that have more than 200 units and communities with fewer than 200 units. The awards ceremony took place on March 18, 2009 in the Historic Capitol in Tallahassee. Award winning communities were personally congratulated by Florida CFO Alex Sink and Representative Jim Frishe, and presented with plaques and community videos highlighting their winning submissions.
The 2010 Florida Communities of Excellence will feature an expanded number of awards categories, an enlarged panel of expert judges and an educational conference at the Fairwinds Alumni Center of the University of Central Florida in Orlando for community leaders to meet and share best practices.
